Our Brand Story

Born from real life. Built for real homes.

Color Hue Home didn’t start with a business plan or a boardroom. It started with two women, a lot of moves, and more “why does this room look weird?” moments than we can count. After years of helping people fix tricky rooms, unexpected paint disasters, awkward spaces, and homes that just weren’t behaving, we noticed something important: People weren’t avoiding help because they didn’t care. They were avoiding help because the process felt exhausting. Appointments. House visits. The “hold on, let me clean first” scramble. So we flipped the model.
Instead of asking people to polish their homes, sit through consults, or pretend they don’t have laundry on the chair (we all do), we asked a different question:

What if getting help with your home was as simple as ordering takeout?

You choose.
You send photos.
We send solutions.
No judgment.
No stress.
No big production.
Just real answers from real color and design experts — delivered online, on your time, in your real life.

We built Color Hue Home for everyday moments:

  • The hallway that’s too yellow.
  • The living room that refuses to come together.
  • The kitchen where the finishes aren’t getting along.
  • The room you sigh at every time you walk past it.
  • The exterior you want to fix before the HOA notices (we see you).

And because we’ve seen it all — military moves, new builds, renovations, inherited furniture, and the occasional “how did this end up here?” piece — we know how to make a home work with what you actually have.

  • No shame.
  • No pressure.
  • No unrealistic expectations.

Color Hue Home is for people who want their homes to feel good — without turning the process into a giant life chore.

  • No appointments.
  • No people traipsing through your home.
  • No panic cleaning.
  • Just clarity, confidence, and solutions — the easy way.

This is home help for real humans.

Jennifer Farlin

Meet Jennifer

Jennifer’s love affair with design started young—she redecorated her Barbie townhouse about 167 times (over the years, not all at once!). Fast forward 17 years in interior styling and more than 1,000 homes later, and she still brings the same enthusiasm (but with way better tools).

As a military spouse of 20 years, Jennifer became an expert at staging homes for quick sales and making temporary houses feel like home. She founded Bella Home Staging in Virginia Beach, where she worked primarily with military families preparing for frequent moves and fast sales. Later, that business evolved into Bella Home Styling in D.C., blending staging, residential design, and vacation property styling.

Her biggest discovery? Paint and the right styling can completely transform a home. Her second? Most people struggle with both — choosing colors that clash with their finishes and under-styling rooms so they feel unfinished or “off.”

That’s where Color Hue Home was born. With Monica’s tech + design savvy and Jennifer’s expertise in color and styling, they created an online consulting service that fixes “oops” moments and helps clients achieve homes that look as good as they feel.

Jennifer is a True Color Expert, trained in the Killam System for Specifying Color. She combines undertone expertise with years of real-world design experience to make sure every space feels pulled together, timeless, and right.

Monica Johnson

Born and raised in Colombia, Monica first crossed paths with Jennifer 26 years ago at NAS Corpus Christi, Texas—in a very memorable moment when Jennifer found her locked out of military lodging. They’ve been best friends ever since.

Monica studied Industrial Design at the University of Bogotá Jorge Tadeo Lozano, with a minor in Interior and Graphic Design. She even published a thesis on design intricacies and is fluent in Spanish. Her career began at Ethan Allen, creating interiors for international clients in South Texas, before launching Designs by Mony in Hampton Roads, VA, specializing in custom window treatments, interior design and color consultations. By pure fate, she ended up living just a mile away from Jennifer—where Bella Home Staging was born. Their adventures together often mirrored the antics of Lucy & Ethel (or Tina Fey & Amy Poehler!).

Monica’s journey then took her to Monterey, California, and eventually Singapore, adding an adventurous international chapter to her design story. Now based in the Washington, D.C. area, her creativity has expanded beyond interiors into graphic design, branding, website design, and event fundraising—with a special focus on women-owned businesses.

Today, Monica is the visual and tech brain behind Color Hue Home, blending her background in interior design, graphic design, branding, and business development to bring the company to life—in full color.
