PHOTO BASICS
Take Photos That Show True Color
1. Use Natural Daylight
Take photos during the daytime. If possible, a cloudy or overcast day is ideal for soft, even natural light.
2. Turn OFF Interior Lights
Turn off lamps, ceiling lights, under-cabinet lights, and ceiling-fan lights before taking photos.
3. Include White Printer Paper
Place one sheet of plain white printer paper somewhere naturally within each room. This gives us a neutral reference for evaluating undertones.
Important: Don’t hold the paper directly against walls, cabinets, countertops, flooring, or tile.
SHOW US THE SPACE
Help Us See the Whole Picture
Show the Entire Room
Whenever possible, include flooring, trim, ceilings, windows, fireplaces, built-ins, and furniture.
Show Adjoining Rooms
Photograph neighboring spaces so we can see how colors need to flow through your home.
Please Include Your Kitchen
Even if it isn’t part of your consultation, your kitchen can reveal important undertones in cabinets, countertops, backsplash, and flooring.
Include Paint Samples
Show us colors you’ve already tested and tell us what you liked, disliked, or what just felt “off.”
