Take Photos That Show True Color

1. Use Natural Daylight

Take photos during the daytime. If possible, a cloudy or overcast day is ideal for soft, even natural light.

2. Turn OFF Interior Lights

Turn off lamps, ceiling lights, under-cabinet lights, and ceiling-fan lights before taking photos.

3. Include White Printer Paper

Place one sheet of plain white printer paper somewhere naturally within each room. This gives us a neutral reference for evaluating undertones.

Important: Don’t hold the paper directly against walls, cabinets, countertops, flooring, or tile.

Whenever possible, include flooring, trim, ceilings, windows, fireplaces, built-ins, and furniture.

Show Adjoining Rooms

Photograph neighboring spaces so we can see how colors need to flow through your home.
